Primary Approach

Cindy is a registered psychologist with a collaborative, person-centred style. Her main therapeutic modality is Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR); an evidenced-based therapy for trauma, as well as anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions. EMDR is particularly suited to clients who feel “stuck” in distressing memories, those who find traditional talk therapy overwhelming, or those seeking a more body-based way of healing.

She integrates EMDR with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and motivational approaches when helpful, tailoring the process to each client’s needs.

Experience

Cindy has worked with veterans, injured workers, and adults with diverse needs, including neurodivergence (ADHD, ASD) and a variety of mental health conditions. Her former background in diplomacy and international relations, including service in Afghanistan, has given her a deep appreciation for resilience, post-traumatic growth, and the many ways people adapt to life’s challenges.

About Cindy

She is especially interested in helping people move beyond trauma, rediscover stability, and reconnect with meaning in their lives.

Outside of work, Cindy finds peace in nature, travel, and mindfulness practices. Highlights include watching the sun set over the Alhambra in Spain to the sounds of flamenco guitar, and exploring Australia for six months with her four-legged best friend, Rufus.
