What is nature based therapy?

We believe that one size (of therapy) doesn’t fit all. 

Nature based therapy takes psychology into the (suburban) wild, expanding a client’s therapeutic environment and resources to include interaction with nature, the elements and movement which has been proven to aid in the overall benefits of therapy. 

Our Nature based therapy service was designed to offer a new therapy environment. Unlike traditional, room-based therapy, Nature Based Therapy is conducted in an open and natural environment at nearby Black Butt Reserve, or locally at our Hamilton-based clinic. It is perfect for those who are looking for an alternative therapy option and for those who enjoy an organic setting for receiving psychology support. 

Nature based therapy encourages clients to connect with nature which has a number of benefits for common mental health conditions, and provides additional ways to interact with a therapist in non-traditional settings that are more commonly accessible to the client to continue their self-care practices.

Walk & Talk from Donald St Practice

Feel like going for a stroll? You can head out from the metropolis of our Hamilton location and walk to Gregson Park. Rest under the shade of the breathtaking old fig trees or walk among the rose garden. Though just a short distance away from Donald Street, Gregson Park is a little peaceful haven from the hustle and bustle a few blocks away. Explore the peaceful environment while exploring your therapy.
